i'm back again! 2011 has been very busy for me so far.. that's why i only updated my blog up till now!!
haha.. i can't really remember all the things happened these two weeks! but here are the highlights:
i working as a relief teacher in JWSS now! it's ad-hoc one.. meaning, when there is any teacher on MC, i will take over the classes for him or her. but if there isn't any teachers absent, i don't have to go to work.. haha..
i chose relief teaching because i want to be a teacher in a future! a JC Chemistry teacher preferably! but too bad JJ's Chemistry department doesn't require any relief teachers.
but overall, it felt great to be back in JWSS with a totally different status! from student, to senior, to volunteer, and to teacher.
the students were okay. not as rowdy and mischievous as what i had expected. just that some like to talk and walk around alot.. hyperactive ones.. haha
other than me, weijin also came back to relief teaching in JWSS too! i'm not alone! haha.. also came to know valerie, alex and other relief teachers too!
ms ho and mr alam are in charge of us.. which makes communication between the teachers in charge and me alot easier.. as they are in JWSS for a long time already and ms ho taught me during sec 3 and 4! :D
to me, there are more pros than cons of being a relief teacher
pros:
1) pay
2) just 10 minutes walk away from my home
3) good food with reasonable prices (although i only buy food from the nasi padang stall xP)
4) familiar environment and people
5) breaks in between
6) ends in the afternoon
7) most importantly, get to experience the feeling of being a teacher! :D
cons:
1) won't get to teach like normal teachers do.. which includes preparation of lesson plans, homework, tests, etc
2) don't know what to do during breaks!! haha.. but usually i will head to the school library read some books and newspapers.. or just stay in the relief staff room to read my magazine and driving book.. haha
3) too slack :XXX
met some really nice students.. needless to say, there are some playful students too.. haha.. love going to 1N2.. although it will be really noisy once they know their teacher is not here.. and a group of them will flock to my table and talk to me and ask me alot of questions.. haha.. so cute!!
2E1 is nice too! they will ask me to guide them on the questions that they are not sure of.. and there's this boy who is a pokemon fanatic and talked about pokemon for almost an hour.. haha.. and he folded a paper peacock for me.. pro sia! and this is the first present that i ever got as a relief teacher. thanks!
2T1.. wa.. it's a really rowdy class.. mainly it's the boys who are making the noises.. must tell them to keep their noise level down once in awhile.. if not they will disturb other classes!
1E3.. haha.. i don't know why.. i feel like teaching whenever when i enter the classroom.. suddenly got the passion to teach.. so i taught them maths and history.. to think that i still remember sec 1 history.. even i myself is amazed by it xP
maths.. i taught them prime numbers, composite numbers, prime factors.. haha.. as for history, i touched on prehistory, AD, BC, Qin Dynasty and abit of Singapore's history. cool man!!
haha.. okays! enough of relief teaching!
now i'm going to talk about my 3 days event assistant work at raffles city convention centre from 11-13 of this month..
it's basically an IBM ASEAN conference.. where they talked about their recent achievements and their goals for the future.. if you think that IBM only manufacture notebooks, you have mistaken them.. they do alot of other stuff too! ranging from government and healthcare, to banking and financial services.
it's HIONG man! at first my work is just to usher the employees.. but in the end, we need to pack up, set up and find stuff.. alot of labour work.. then must stand at the designated position for hours and must scan the barcodes on the tags of the employees before they enter the conference room so as to take attendance. first day.. worked normal hours. 2pm-9pm.. as for day 2, it's really OT by 5 hours. because they need help in filing and sorting out the notes for the employees by the next day.. so everyone chiong-ed.. in the end, we only went back at 2am via taxi.. of course, we can claim the taxi fare.. haha
day 3. abit slack at first because just need to stand at the position and scan the barcodes.. and some ushering job after that.. but after the corporate dinner, we need to pack up all the banners in the rooms.. alot man.. and i managed to carry them out without dismantling it or the structure itself collapsing.. woo!!
and we only had dinner at 11pm that day.. haha.. honestly speaking, i wasn't hungry at all.. don't know why.. but i still ate in the end.. had buffet food for day 2 and 3.. but they were basically leftovers la.. the food also not that nice anyway.. only the desserts nicer.. haha.. as for day 1, i had nasi padang!
was super lucky.. because i would usually take abit of each food then won't really go and see what food is it.. i almost ate beef man! was wondering why that piece of meat colour like different one.. in the end i found out that it was really beef.. heng!!
but i tried out venison. which is deer's meat. no much difference from normal meat like lamb meat.. not bad.. haha
my feet were on the verge of breaking down during those 3 days due to long hours of standing and walking! lucky it was just 3 days.. haha
but i got sore throat as a result of not enough water breaks :(
well, i will take good care of myself!
today!! i finally met up with hubby! it has been more than a month since we last met!
he's finally back from suzhou! haha.. we chatted as we walked from orchard to somerset to dhoby ghaut to city hall and to many other places.. haha.. didn't really want to see or buy anything.. we didn't even eat dinner! haha.. just want to be with him no matter where we are! :D
and on 3 jan, i cooked spaghetti! :D
and i passed my BTE! (Basic Theory Evaluation test).. got 68/70!! haha.. next up, BTT on 25th!
okays! i got to go le!
take cares everyone!
byebye ^^
